Recent Paintings
The source material of my work comes from contrasts – light and dark, bright light and colourful plants in shadow, skies with earth, the human figure within landscape, industrial forms and structures unusually located.
The prints all come from fresh material, concepts and ideas, whereas, the recent paintings hark back to some of my previous work, samples of which I have included in the Archive section. The new paintings have a similar strong flavour of the so-called ‘painterliness’, as characterised by the traditions of tuition at Glasgow School of Art when I was a student there.
All my recent work has been exhibited at The Glasgow Art Club in their seasonal exhibitions, at the reopening of the refurbished main Gallery, and in the commemorative 150 year Anniversary Exhibition in 2017.
The paintings are only available for sale by appointment and nothing displayed in the Archive page is available.
